This app is a memory aid for your real, physical stuff. In real life you put things into boxes, drawers, shelves and bags. Here you write down what went where — with a photo and a few notes — so you never have to dig through five boxes to find one cable again.
A container is any place you keep things: a box, a crate, a drawer, a shelf, a wardrobe, a suitcase, a bag, a storage unit…
An item is anything that lives inside a container.
There's no wrong answer, but these are the things people find most useful later:
A photo makes finding things instant. Photograph the item itself — or, for a whole shelf or wardrobe, take one picture of the shelf so you can see the layout at a glance.
Type in the search bar at the top. It looks through container names and item names and shows you the container where the thing lives. If only an item matches, only the matching items are shown — so you see exactly where to look.
